The short version
Arooz checks the meter of Urdu poetry. The iOS app scans your poetry entirely on your device. We don't run ads, we don't use analytics or tracking, and we don't sell or share your data. The only personal data we hold is the email address of your account, if you choose to create one.
Your poetry
In the mobile app, scanning happens offline on your device — the poems you type never leave it. On the website, the text you submit is processed in memory by our server to compute the scan result and is not stored, logged for content, or used for any other purpose.
Accounts
You can use Arooz without an account for a limited number of meter checks. If you sign up — with email and password, Google, or Apple — we store your email address and authentication identifiers with our authentication provider, Supabase, to operate your account. Sign in with Apple lets you hide your real email address. We use your email only for authentication and essential account messages (such as confirmation and password reset). No marketing email, ever.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from the app (About → Account → Delete account). Deletion is immediate and permanent: your account record and email address are removed from our systems. You can also request deletion by email at the address below.
What stays on your device
Preferences (like theme), the free-check counter, and the dictionaries the scanner uses are stored locally on your device or in your browser. They are not transmitted to us.
No ads, no tracking
Arooz contains no advertising, no third-party analytics, and no tracking SDKs. We do not build profiles of you and we do not share data with data brokers. The app makes network requests only for authentication.
